Goldfish Plant (Nematanthus glabra)
Native to tropical America, the goldfish plant belongs to the same family as African violets and gloxinias. The flowers look just like goldfish without fins. This is a classic plant for a hanging basket. It grows best indoors in bright filtered light, or outside in a warm sheltered position, but it is frost tender. Water your goldfish plant well in the growing season, but keep it fairly dry during the winter months. Tip prune after flowering to maintain size and shape.

1) arrived and took off like a bat out of hello! I've transplanted it probably 4 times already and it has 100's of fish. - this grows like a weed and i love it. 100's of goldfish flowers and it never gets tired of growing. I bought 3 of these plants and all are exceptionally huge! I give them a shower with the water hose and blow off any dead leaves and it works like a charm. they love the water. My biggest problem is remembering to water them. My husband has to carry the pots outside for me because they are too heavy, even though they are in plastic pots. ALL THEY NEED IS LOTS OF WATER AND PLENTY OF SUNSHINE. I fertalize them every 6 months or so with plant spikes. but no special care other than a regular bath/shower. love them.

2) Goldfish plant - I was so happy to find this plant as mine died and I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to find a replacement. It is such a unique plant and a gorgeous addition to any home. You will enjoy the little "goldfish" as they bloom.
