SOME OF THE CUSTOMER REVIEWS ABOUT THIS
FLOWER/PLANT [SAMPLE]

1) My eyesight is not the best these daysMy eyesight is not the best these days, even with glasses. The pictures are just beautiful. And the most important is that I can see the date from across the room. At the end of the year, I give the pictures to our local church for the children to use in making cards and posters.

2) Have not opened yet, but the previous year's was excellent - Actually, I have not opened this year's calendar, but based on the one I had for 2014, my expectations are quite high. All of the pictures are quite beautiful. I appreciate the variety. On one day, I'll see a close-up view of a gorgeous rose. On another day, I'll see a field of blooms. Occasionally, I'll see a botanical illustration of an entire flowering plant. This calendar is one of the joys of getting up early in the morning.

ON FLOWERS

This book weaves together mystery, legend, history and folklore to create images which celebrate the wonder and beauty of flowers. For example, the photographs show that flowers can: appear in fantasy designs for clothing and art; accent the taste and look of food dishes; and more traditionally, they can be displayed in vases and wreaths with ravishing results. The lyrical text that accompanies the photographs explores the significance of flowers in literature, poetry and everyday life. Added to this is practical information on the styling, handling and care of flowers.

OF GREEN LEAF, BIRD, AND FLOWER : ARTISTS' BOOKS AND THE NATURAL WORLD ( YALE CENTER FOR BRITISH ART )

Highlighting an enduring interest in natural history from the 16th century to the present, this gorgeous book explores depictions of the natural world, from centuries-old manuscripts to contemporary artists’ books.  It examines the scientific pursuits in the 18th and 19th centuries that resulted in the collecting and cataloguing of the natural world.  It also investigates the aesthetically oriented activities of self-taught naturalists in the 19th century, who gathered flowers, ferns, seaweed, feathers, and other naturalia into albums.  Examples of 20th- and 21st-century artists’ books, including those of Eileen Hogan, Mandy Bonnell, and Tracey Bush, broaden the vision of the natural world to incorporate its interaction with consumer culture and with modern technologies.  Featuring dazzling illustrations, the book itself is designed to evoke a fieldwork notebook, and features a collection pocket and ribbon markers.

This gorgeous book explores depictions of the natural world from centuries-old manuscripts to contemporary artists’ books.
